Chin surgery – mentoplasty

Three solutions are used in the treatment of chin surgery, selected individually to the needs of the patient based on the assessment and interview with a specialist physician.

Autotransplantation of fat tissue
An exceptionally low-invasive method of autotransplantation of fat tissue – Vaser Lipo – can be used to achieve a shapely chin. It involves taking the patient’s fat tissue from another part of the body and transplanting it into the chin to model the right shape. Read more about Vaser Lipo.

Implant
Chin implants are often used together with the plastic surgery of the nose to produce a balanced proportion of the entire face. Interestingly, some patients consider their nose to be too large, while in fact correcting the chin proportions causes an optical reduction of the nose. During the procedure, the structure is corrected and a permanent implant or another biocompatible material is used to construct the right shape and size. Patients usually return to work after a week to 10 days, but swelling and bruising may persist for several weeks.

Jowl plastic surgery
In the case of a chin surgery that requires interference with the bones, the procedure lasts from 1 to 2 hours. Your plastic surgeon cuts the skin on the chin, around the mouth or inside the mouth to precisely shape the bone. Due to the stitches, during recovery, it is advisable to take only liquid foods. Discomfort and pain are controlled by appropriate medicines. Swelling may persist for several weeks.

Plastic surgery of the eyelids – blepharoplasty

How it’s done

Blepharoplasty is intended for the patients who suffer from excess skin or eyelid fat, as well as lower or upper eyelid asymmetries. The purpose of the procedure is usually to remove the signs of ageing, improve the aesthetics of the eyelids, but also restore their normal functioning.

The procedure usually takes up to 2 hours and consists of making an incision in the eyelids to shape them. In most cases, local anaesthesia is administered, and the patient returns to work usually around 10 days after the procedure. You do not have to worry about ugly scars – they are minimal and basically disappear a few months after the surgery.

Blepharoplasty is not able to correct the shadows under the eyes or to even out the filling of the lines or grooves above the zygomatic bone (lower part of the eye). Hence, often with eyelid surgery, we recommend the simultaneous application of dermatological fillers or autotransplantation of adipose tissue using the innovative Vaser Lipo ultrasound technique. This will give you the full effect of correction and thus rejuvenate and smooth your face around the eyes.

Otoplasty

How it’s done

Otoplasty is a popular procedure that can be performed even on young patients. It is children who, because of peer pressure, particularly feel the sense of shame, low self-esteem, and experience problems in the functioning in a group. Ear surgery not only affects the aesthetics itself but also strongly supports the improvement of the patient’s mental condition. Besides, despite the age controversy, young people are much better able to handle the procedure and recover faster. In addition to the necessary assessment of the patient’s general health, there are no contraindications for otoplasty.

The procedure is performed by a plastic surgeon under local anaesthesia. It consists in making the incision behind the auricle and shaping the cartilage so that the ears are kept flat against the head. Sometimes it is also advisable to correct the shape of the auricle. The whole procedure takes approx. 60 minutes.

After the procedure, the patient wears compression bandages so that the ear heals in the appropriate position and to protect the stitches. It is recommended to abstain from washing the hair for the first two days following the procedure. A week later the bandages are removed and the patient can return to school, work or other activities. Although, for six weeks, sports activities such as swimming should be avoided. The effects are permanent, meaning that there is usually no need for another procedure.

At Mandala Beauty Clinic, we also deal with ear problems resulting from mechanical accidents (e.g. penetrating, blunt trauma) or burns.

In our experience, we know that this minor plastic surgery procedure can be of great importance to the patient. And there is no greater satisfaction than seeing a person who, after surgery, enters the office with their hair proudly combed back, not ashamed of their ears.

Nasal plastic surgery, septoplasty (rinoplasty)

Usually, the external appearance of the nose and its septum is affected by genetic issues or past traumas. In each case, we approach our patients individually to make changes that fit the looks, the facial shape and appear natural. Depending on the extent of the procedure, rhinoplasty can be performed under local or general anaesthesia, although the latter solution is more commonly used. To obtain the desired effect, the skin, bone, and cartilage are modelled through an incision inside the nose.

After the surgery, many patients experience oedema and bruising of the area around the nose and eyes. This is a normal, temporary, reaction of the body that can be alleviated with the use of analgesics. Approximately 24 hours after surgery, tampons – internal dressings – are removed. Until then, the patient must breathe through the mouth.
Within a few weeks of the surgery, patients return to normal activities. However, the nose and the surrounding area remain sensitive for about a year, so be extra careful to avoid injury, exposure to the sun, solarium, pressure changes, and sometimes also wearing eyeglasses. After this period, the nose retains its final shape and the patient can enjoy the end result of the treatment.

Face lift

How it’s done

There are many facial rejuvenation treatments, but a facelift is one of the most effective and the most lasting – and it’s back in good graces. The idea is not to create a ‘new’ face, but one that looks refreshed, less tired and younger. The purpose of a facelift is to reduce the wrinkling of the skin (also deep wrinkles), regain tension and elasticity.

The procedure is performed by a plastic surgeon under anaesthesia and involves the removal of skin and fat tissue to restore sharp facial features. This kind of facelift is the so-called midface lift applied to the skin of the cheeks and the skin between the nose and upper lip.
Meanwhile, in the case of a neck lift, apart from removing excess skin and adipose tissue, the muscles are stretched. Surgery is also performed under anaesthesia. The final result, in the case of both treatments, is achieved after approx. three months.

In some patients, we recommend complementary treatments to achieve the best effect of a facelift. In order to improve the appearance of the cheek area and the skin above the upper lip, we use dermatological fillers or transplants of your own fat tissue. Our expert will tell you about these possibilities.
